the transition from hip hop dj to dance music producer is not always an easy one. it is a path littered with countless fitted caps, baggy jeans, and backpacks. yet throne of blood s oneauff has walked this path and emerged unscathed. originally from north carolina, this long time brooklyn resident is no stranger to tob, having released two singles with production partner eamon harkin (mister saturday night/subway series) as well as remixes for populette, corinne (on the prowl), and the neurotic drum band (wurst music co.). though oneauff (known to the government as steve raney) has also been heard a couple solo releases including a digital-only single on buzzard gulch and a remix for cubic zirconia (dont cry recordings), the heavy heady ep is his most fully realized and developed. it s also among the most gorgeous records throne of blood has ever released.

bit of a special release we have here with a new collaborative project from belgian duo fcl joining the omnipresent danilo of motor city drum ensemble for some seriously raw, stripped back and undiluted house music. most people will know san soda and red ds fcl project following the brilliant lets go seven release on their we play house label last year as well as their remix of proof for trunkfunk. mcde has become one of the biggest and most revered names in house in recent years having produced the amazing raw cuts series as well as compiling the dj kicks lp which spawned the mcde single l.o.v.e.

the black dog are a legendary live act whose ability to destroy venues and wreck soundsystems is undeniable. they blur the boundaries between djing and performance while possessing an excellent sense of where to take the crowd. live, they represent purist techno, which is also utterly crowd pleasing. on record, tbd are famous for delivering subtlety, emotion, and intellectual richness, as well as great tunes, but never in their career have they managed to convey the sheer visceral impact of their performances as on liber dogma. this album contrasts with last years extremely well-received ambient outings on music for real airports and the dadavistic orkestra collaboration with members of the psychick warriors of gaia. while none of the bands artistry and care has been lost, there is now a greater focus on a pure, and utterly exhilarating, vision of how techno can transform the dancefloor into a realm of complete pleasure.

about yoav b (delsin/wasa bi) :in the last 10 years, dj yoav b has released some of the finest deep house and techno records around, some are already considered as cult classics. most of you will recognize that thick, thick bassline of his underground anthem >energize<, which was fired at you at many dancefloors around the world, or that dazzling kick drum and fm synth bass line of “organ satta” that appealed to djs from chicago to berlin.with his latest release for the most respected delsin label, entitled >love dubs<, he kept pushing the limits of dance music over the maximum, with some experimental yet funky as hell house and techno music, picked, played and charted by a large scale of djs such as martyn, marcel dettmann, charles webster, basic soul unit and more. near future projects include e.p. releases for the lables meakusma (belgium) and synchrophone (france).as a dj, yoav b. has established himself as one of israels finest underground dance music jocks. also recognized for his unique cut n paste way of mixing, you can hear in his sets nothing but deep and hot music in various styles – from deep house to techno, from disco to jackbeat, from classic to futuristic – all mixed in a furious funky, yet coherent spinning style.

lower east launched in the summer of 2010. it was the result of a coming together of 3 likeminded friends: cozzy d, lee brinx and ed kane (kanio/dexter kane). all established members of the london scene in their own right, they combined forces to create a label with one simple ethos: quality electronic music. whilst the idea itself is unified, the influences are vast. disco, techno, garage, hip-hop, drum and bass, jazz, 80 s and soul all inspire lower easts subtle blend of 4/4 beats. notable artists on lower east include: lee foss, gavin herlihy, robert james, uner, nima gorji, pezzner, richie ahmed, puente and rosche, waifs and strays, and death on the balcony.

above machine is a new label from production duo the project club.field of dreams (reprise mix) incorporates their trademark dreamy guitars coupled with a gorgeous synth hook courtesy of the dave smith prophet. this mix is best served horizontal.
the lexx remix stays close to the original mix but moves gently into the world of disco by adding a smooth bassline by reto gaffuri, along with a tight drum track that together creates a beautiful beach bar groove.
d-pulse serve up a top-notch remix production using all the very best elements from the original mix whilst adding their own unique quality and musicianship to the proceedings.
beginnings started off life as a remix, but ended up as a project club beach epic. the track is irresistibly melancholy and a worthy inclusion on this stunning debut 12 inch.

the new nucleosynthesis ep from the finnish duo morphology shows the future sound of electro.
a1 and a2 are two dark, atmospheric tracks with lots of analogue power. the tracks on b-side combines spacy and melodic sequences with the finest drum-programming of these days.<br >out of this world.

prestige music is announcing the latest vinyl pressing and first release in the relaunch effort. jeremy howard aka sinistarr hailing from detroit michigan has build himself quite a namesake within drum and bass music. with his signature style of techno infused funk sinistarr adds to his impressive discography with this prestige debut.

in a time when rock critics saw the prodigy as a glorified keyboard player flanked by a couple of weird and scary dancers, liam howlett & co showed the world how dance had evolved away from the club scene and into the festivals & arenas.
and they did that by staying true to their own sound. while dance moved from acid house to rave to ambient to breakbeat & drum n bass, the prodigy changed their brand of hard-hitting breakbeat with king-sized hooks and unmissable samples only sparingly.
